Join us for a splash of fun at the Great Humboldt Duck Race. As the museum’s biggest fundraiser, the Great Humboldt Duck Race has become one of Elko’s unique family events. Every summer, thousands of rubber duckies are adopted by supporters of the Museum, and then City of Elko Fire Department flushes them down Angel Park hill where they race to the finish line. The quickest duck wins it’s adopter $1,500. The last duck to cross the finish line wins the $250 prize sponsored by Everything Elko! Proceeds support the Museum’s programs and projects for the year.

  • Halleck Bar Party

    Halleck Bar Party

The annual Halleck Bar Party honors the restoration and donation of the historic Halleck Bar with an evening of music, drinks, and good company. Surrounded by local western charm, guests enjoy one of the most anticipated social events in Elko, NV. It’s the perfect mix of nostalgia and small-town hospitality. We provide heaping bowls of paella, pintxos from Ogi Deli, and a variety of canapés and sweets that guests enjoy while listening to live music. The most important tradition is that we serve shots of beefeater gin, the bar's original drink of choice, and collectively toast to the Halleck Bar. Don't worry; we have a full bar available if gin is not your desired poison.
